Michael Wilson

Area Director

Michael Wilson, Executive Director, brings over 18 years of experience as an Executive/Area Director to the TerraBella Southern Pines team. Michael received his BA from UNC Charlotte and his masters from UNC Greensboro. Prior to moving into senior living, Michael began his career working in criminal psychiatry.

Michael has been married to his wife, Sandy, for 28 years and together they have a daughter, Alex as well as three rescue dogs and two horses. In his free time, Michael enjoys animal rescue, watching horror movies, history, football, college basketball, and enjoying the outdoors!

Jennifer Angel

Assistant Executive Director

Jennifer was born into a military family and has traveled the world! Her father retired at Pope Air Force Base and she has now been a resident of North Carolina for over 30 years. After graduating from Sandhills Community College, Jennifer began her career in healthcare at TerraBella Southern Pines. She also went on to obtain her Pharmacy Tech License and became Certified with Dementia Care.  She has spent the past 17 years working as a Med. Tech with TerraBella, but has most recently been promoted as the Business Office Manager. Her passion for senior living has given her the heart to do what she loves! When Jennifer is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, spending time at the beach and she loves to read.

Cynthia Bridges Currie

Director of Health & Wellness

Director of Health & Wellness Cynthia Bridges Currie is a LPN with more than seven years of experience in geriatric care, first beginning as a shift manager at a 90-bed nursing home facility. Now, Cynthia is the Memory Care Director here at TerraBella Southern Pines. She graduated from the nursing program at Sandhills Community College and has earned accreditation from the Montessori Dementia Care Professional Course. From her many years of experience, she recognizes within herself a strong compassion for the caregiving of the elderly. In her current role, she enjoys leading her team in caring for the residents, leveraging her experience to mentor younger members of our team, and interacting directly with our residents and their families. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her granddaughters, Kayla and Cadence, three dogs, and being outside gardening or tending to their birdfeeders.

Jessica Barrington

Senior Lifestyle Counselor

Jessica began her career in eldercare in 2009, earning a graduate degree in Gerontology from Webster University in 2010. Honing her skills in a variety of settings, she has worked in skilled nursing, memory care communities, and as a Certified Geriatric Care Manager. What she loves most about her work is visiting with older adults and their families and helping to bring them peace of mind.

From Missouri by way of California, Jessica loves traveling with her husband. The two spent 2021-2022 living in Spain before settling in Southern Pines. In addition to traveling, Jessica enjoys hiking, yoga, cooking, and music. A registered yoga teacher, she teaches classes at a local yoga studio.

Memory Care Director

LayTania Crump brings over 18 years of experience to her role of Memory Care Director.  A Certified Dementia Practitioner, LayTania began her senior living career as a nursing assistant. She is also a certified medication technician and has worked as a resident lifestyle director, resident care coordinator, and a business office manager.

Through social engagement utilizing the SHINE program, LayTania’s goal is to create a positive, secure, and nurturing environment for residents living with dementia. Her patience and strong desire to connect with residents, families, and staff make her a true asset to the TerraBella Family. In her spare time, LayTania enjoys decorating and planning events with family and friends.

Angela Barkley has been in her current position for more than two years and, prior to that, held the role of Memory Care Program Coordinator for 3 years all right here at TerraBella Southern Pines. In college, Angela earned her certificate as Activity Director, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and achieved accreditation as a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional. She truly enjoys the smiles that she helps put on the residents’ faces every day. Angela has been going strong in the senior living industry for more than 17 years now and absolutely loves it all.

Lynette Locklear

Resident Care Coordinator

Lynette Locklear has been a member of the TerraBella Sourthern Pines since 2018 and currently serves as Resident Care Coordinator. She began her career as a PCA in 1995 before becoming a CNA in 2003. Prior to serving as Resident Care Coordinator, Lynette spent 15 years serving seniors as a Med Tech. Lynette was inspired to begin her career in senior living because of her mother, who was an administrator of an assisted living facility, and her passion for healthcare.

 

Lynette is the proud mother to two daughters who also work in healthcare and the proud “Meema” of three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys taking care of her mother, spending time with family and friends, reading, and practicing creativity.

Mercedes Webster

Memory Care Director

Mercedes Webster, Memory Care Director, was born and raised in Detroit, MI and moved to North Carolina with her family in 2013. After attending and graduating from the illustrious Winston Salem State University with a Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, she initially accepted a role as Activities Director at TerraBella Southern Pines and served for two years before becoming Memory Care Director. Mercedes was inspired to begin her career in senior living because she enjoys spending time with the elderly and cares deeply about their quality of life. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, planning events, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Director of Facility Operations

Chris Fox serves TerraBella as Director of Facility Operations and describes his role here as the most rewarding job in his career. Chris enjoys helping our residents each and every day and truly making a difference in their lives. When he is not at work, he enjoys fishing with his daughter and spending time with his granddaughter.
