While sometimes called one of “America’s best-kept secrets,” our native Raleigh is a thriving city with a certain youthful energy. Located near the heart of North Carolina, the city and surrounding areas serve as a hub for education and research, industry, government, outdoor recreation, dining and entertainment and so much more.
TerraBella Northridge is situated in Northwest Raleigh, an expansive area that sits on the high side of the bustling midtown district and is home to hundreds of senior- and family-friendly restaurants, entertainment venues, parks and recreation areas. Outdoor lovers especially love our neck of the woods, with its 9,000 acres of parkland, 180 miles of greenway trails and nearly 1,300 acres of water including Lake Lynn and Falls Lake.
For those who prefer to have more of their fun indoors, the area is popular for live music and seasonal festivals as well as visual and performing arts. Raleigh is also home to the North Carolina State Capitol as well as three major state museums (of Art, History and Natural Sciences), all of which are among the biggest and best in the Southeast. (Bonus tip: Many of Raleigh’s museums and attractions are free!) And although this region is perhaps best known for its major college sports (NC State, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, etc.), fans can also take in professional baseball and soccer as well as cheer on the Carolina Hurricanes, who take on the NHL’s best at PNC Arena.
As you can see, Raleigh leaves very little to be desired, but our community also sits adjacent to neighboring Cary, itself one of the fastest-growing new cities in the South. With craft breweries, spectator sports, and signature restaurants and eateries like Ashworth Drugs, which has been serving up hot dogs and Coke floats since the 1950’s, Cary is nationally recognized as one of the country’s “Best Places to Live.”
